Medusa
“Medusa,” is a character in history that most of us know, but what you might not know is that one of histories most infamous villains was actually severely wronged. She was described as beautiful beyond belief. One day, Poseidon raped Medusa in the temple of Athena. Athena then punished Medusa for “breaking her celibacy” by turning her hair into snakes and causing every man she glanced at to become stone. Medusa’s story is sad, so her portrait is emotional. She’s fear stricken, but not purposely causing fear.
